Tasty Pork Ribs Soup

P1050946.JPGNothing is better than a hot delicious soup in the cold days. My son loves this soup everytime I make it. I found kids eat better when there is tasty broth along with their rice, it’s definitly the case for my son. In Asian culture, we make a lot of bone soup, beside the flavor it gives us, not many of us might know its benefits. [1]

  • Helps heal and seal your guts, and promote healthy digestion


  • About 2 lbs Pork short ribs
  • 2 medium Onions
  • 4 gloves of garlic
  • 1 small size Daikon cut in large cubes (Optional)
  • 17-18 cups of water
  • Zucchini (for toppings)
  • Tofu (for toppings)
  • Green onion (for toppings)
  • Homemade egg noodles

 Method :

  1. Wash pork ribs in cold water
  2. Parboil pork ribs to remove of blood and dirt
  3. Boil another batch of hot water to make the broth now
  4. When water is boiling, add clean pork ribs, onion, garlic and daikon
  5. Boil for about 1 – 1 ½ hour medium heat
  6. Take out the daikon out of the broth after 45min or else it will be too soft
  7. Cook egg noodle in a separate boiling water, set aside
  8. Add /cook toppings; zucchini and tofu in the broth. Once broth is to the point to boil add back your noodle in broth to serve everything hot
  9. Add green onion on top of your dish before serving
  10. If you kids accepts sesame oil, add a little dash on top for better taste



  1. If you have time to make broth one day ahead, you could skim fat from broth by put it in your fridge. It would be heathier for kids if you wish to do so.
  2. The water to put into your broth making is; your water should be about 2.5x in volume of your bone. This ratio will give you the best taste. It should give you about 1/3 of broth as ending result.
