Quicky Hong Kong fried sticky rice



  • 2 cup of glutinous rice
  • 2 dried Chinese sausages
  • 1 tbsp dried shrimp
  • 5-6 dried mushrooms
  • 2 minced shallots
  • 1 ½-2 tsp Soy sauce
  • ½ tsp Dark soy sauce
  • little salt (adjust to your taste if soy sauce not salty enough)
  • 1 chopped Green onion as topping (optional)
  • Some Coriander as topping (optional)


  1. Soak mushroom and dried shrimp in water, it will rehydrate them. set asideIMG_1012
  2. Cook glutinous rice in rice cooker. Put water as your rice cooker indicates you for 2 cups of rice. My rice cooker has special indication for glutinous rice cooking water level.IMG_1013
  3. Minced dried shrimp, dry sausages and dry mushroom s, set aside
  4. Add oil in hot pan
  5. Add minced shallots in pan first, for about 10-15 seconds
  6. Add dried shrimp, dry sausages and mushroomsIMG_1014.JPG
  7. Add cooked rice, stir everything wellIMG_1017
  8. Add dark soy sauce, mix well and make sure that the color blend well in the white rice
  9. Add soy sauce, mix well again
  10. Add some salt if desire more saltiness in your dish
